For many years the church was helped by missions from the northern Presbyterian Church, particularly Gertrude McCrevey, who spent from 1925 until 1947 working with the church and community in a project known as the McDowell Mission. Assistance was later provided by Danville Presbyterians and students from Centre College. The building no longer stands.</text>
