Sketch

Rudolf P. Gilcher, a native Kentuckian, was a graduate of Centre's Class of 1914, and while in college a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. Gilcher later graduated from Plastics Technical Institute, West Coast University. He became president of a plastics firm, and author of a book titled The Fundamentals of Plastic. Gilcher's lifelong love was music and composition. He composed over 169 piano works, a symphony, and a piano concerto. Many of his compositions, including two full scores, are included in this collection. None of Gilcher's works were ever published.
